I am determined to never take the paradise I live in for granted! Having spent 21 years of my life craving some good old vitamin C in cloudy Yorkshire, it seems really odd that the Great Barrier Reef is only a 30 minute boat ride away.
After three years here, I still get my wanderlustal fix by exploring new and stunning locations all on my doorstep. Like Fitzroy Island, the postcard-picture-perfect location in which these photos were taken.
Located just 30 minutes off the shore of my city Cairns, visiting this idyllic, tropical island is like taking a vacation in one day. Having had a 50+ hour stressful work week, sipping cocktails on the beach as the waves lapped the shore with my other half was a total dream.
We even saw humpback whales on the boat ride here! So adorable!
Not one to never dress up, I decided to work my normal beachy, boho vibe in this nice little clash of crochet and lace. Awkward fact: I was writing a piece for Mirodoor.com about how to rock the boho trend. As I was writing, DO NOT wear lace and crochet together; I remembered this outfit, had a total 'duh' moment and deleted the statement. Guess I proved myself wrong...
Dirty, sweaty top knots have become the norm for me. I'd love to have perfectly quaffed, shiny hair, but it's just too darn hot here for all of that! But I won't complain about the amazing climate.. even though I am English....
