Color, print and shapes are seriously doing one big party in todays look. It's safe to say that I will never be a minimalist...

As I scroll through yet another perfect monochrome Instagram feed full of perfectly folded white tees on marble tables, a sudden thought pops into my head: 'Seriously, Rach: you will never be this cool.'

I don't lie. It seems that a lot of popular fashion bloggers take a really minimalistic approach to their personal style. At one point last week I had a bit of a meltdown; what's the point of doing this? Maybe I'm not even stylish? The bloggers whose followers are growing are all 'perfectly polished minimalists.'

Say what? I'll break it down for you: A 'perfectly polished minimalist' could be described as a stunningly model-esque babe, with a banging bod and a soft spot for monochrome. She wears a white, Zimmerman shirt dress and a pair of plain slides and looks effortlessly cool. She experiments with shapes, but keeps it timeless. Everyone wants to be her. She could make a Tesco bin bag look cool. Her feed is an oh-so-perfect, seamless meshing of greyscale tones and arty shapes.

And here's me parading through the rainforest, pretending my boho print dress is a cape, dressed in a conglomeration of lace and pastel green overalls, with a big-ass bun in my hair.

I repeat: I will never be a 'cool' minimalist. But I will be myself. And although I may have days where I dress in simple, black pieces, my love for color and print isn't going anywhere.

The stunning minimalists are fashionable and so am I. And the moral of the story, dear reader, is to be yourself.

Peace out!
Rachel

P.s. I even dared to smile with teeth on one photo!
